A BIRTHDAY PARTY

The starting point of all achievement is desire. Keep this constantly in mind. Weak desires bring weak results, just as a small amount of fire makes a small amount of heat.
Napoleon Hill

I have seen a lot written about Napoleon Hill. One day I must actually read some of his work. This was just a quote of his that I happened to come across, but seemed to make a lot of sense.

I have been knitting jumpers for Cambodian babies with AIDS at school and decided to knit one for P:-)'s daughter M who is expecting a baby in October, and one for  his little grand daughter R who is only about 6 weeks old.

Baby jumpers
I was pleased that I had both of these ready for Saturday when we were seeing P:-)'s family at a get together for a grand daughter's birthday.

We had lunch at The Weir at Audley in the Royal national Park just south of Sydney. It was great for the small children as the eating area was near a large grassed area where the kids could play.

You can just make out the white dots in the tree in the next picture. They are cockatoos.
Cockatoos beyond the balloons.

The cake was delicious.

Birthday cake
The cake was a large 1 and the candle played the tune of Happy Birthday when it was lit and then didn't stop, playing it over and over again. Little L really enjoyed having Happy Birthday sung to her by lots of people and LOVED the cake. She was quite upset when she wasn't allowed to have more. I wished I could have had more too, but it had to serve 25 people.

On Sunday we went to the Illawarra yacht club for lunch with P:-)'s two sisters and their husbands.

The chef has changed and the menu and the food wasn't up to its usual standard which was a pity. My usual lentil patties were no longer available and I had beer battered fish and chips. But there was no salad and the fish was soft and mushy. I won't be having that again.

Later P:-) and I went to church. The last few sermons have been on the parable of The Prodigal Son and last night they had a table on the stage set up for a feast complete with fairy lights. It was very pretty.

Church on Sunday night.
Who would have thought you could spend weeks talking about The Prodigal Son? But it has actually been very enlightening.
