POMEGRANATES AND CAULIFLOWER

To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour.

William Blake

It's raining this afternoon. There is a bit of thunder rumbling around but no lightning.

I love my yard in the rain. Everything seems so much greener. We need rain. It has been a dry January.

Jasper, my daughter's and son-in-law's dog, came to stay for a couple of nights last weekend. I love having him. He is great company. He follows me around like a little shadow.

Sometimes I think about getting myself a little dog but I am out so much it would have to stay on its own a lot. And I hope to be doing quite a bit of camping this year.

I had another sewing machine  lesson this week at Vera’s Sewing Centre Fairy Meadow.

I am learning so much about what my machine can do....

....and I am setting up a sewing/craft room.

At the moment it is very haphazard but I have great plans for this room. It will be great to be able to leave the sewing machine out and organise all my craft bit and pieces.

I have discovered pomegranates. I had never tried one until last week and have enjoyed them a couple of times for morning tea.

They are extremely messy to eat but quite delicious. I shall have to try them in some salads.

One tasty recipe I have come across for when cauliflowers are cheap is Roast Cauliflower and Mustard Seeds. We had this with some other baked vegetables on Monday night for dinner.

I don't like boiled cauliflower but  this recipe is very tasty as well as low in fat and kilojoules.

Roast Cauliflower with Mustard Seeds
1 tbs olive oil
1 finely chopped onion
1 tablespoon yellow mustard seeds
2 tbs stock
6 cups  cauliflower flowerets
Olive oil spray

  1. Preheat oven to 220 degrees C (200 degrees C for fan forced.)
  2. Line baking tray with baking paper.
  3. Combine oil, onion and mustard seed in a non-stick fry pan and cook over moderate heat until the onion is nicely browned.
  4. Stir in stock.
  5. Combine onion mixture in a mixing bowl with cauliflower and toss well so cauliflower is coated.
  6. Spread in baking dish and spray with olive oil.
  7. Bake about 30-45 minutes, until tender.

This recipe serves 4 but P:-) and I usually finish it in one sitting.

You might think P:-) and I eat a lot - we eat a lot of vegetables but they suit my diet very well. So far I have lost 7 kilograms with minimum pain.

I am using a system called ageLOCTR90.

You can read more about it here.

It is a new product, first released last October. It sold out worldwide in a day ($205 million US) and is no longer available. There will be another release in April 2014.
I just heard about it by luck, thanks to my brother who sat next to a distributor on a plane  trip back from Canada in November. He was sure I would be interested and asked for her card and then misplaced it. He could remember the name of the product and a few details about her. He knew she was Jenny but could not remember her surname. I spent 2 days searching for her on the internet and finally found her near Bunbury in Western Australia. Luckily she had some TR90 available.

Nobody has noticed my weight loss yet, but I do have quite a bit to lose. Some clothes that  had become too small now fit!

Those of you who know me personally will be aware of my long struggles with my weight.
I don't know how TR90 works. There is a shake and some supplements containing plant extracts.  But it is the first time I have been able to lose weight without feeling half dead.

I take some medication for a few ailments so checked with my GP about the supplements. He said they were fine and to go for it.

If you are interested at all just let me know in the comments. I can't make any promises but can contact Jenny about ordering some for April.

  1. It was good to catch up with you earlier in the week. Though I can't see your weight loss yet, you know it and I can see that you look healthy, so I supposed I should have commented on this. I am sorry for the neglect!
