MERRY BEACH AND HOME

With everything that has happened to you, you can either feel sorry for yourself or treat what has happened as a gift. Everything is either an opportunity to grow or an obstacle to keep you from growing. You get to choose.

Merry Beach was lovely. It is on the beautiful south coast of NSW. Of course it is winter here in Australia so we didn't go planning to swim - just to have a nice break. Most of our time was spent in our little caravan with the heater up high and the TV on. We had an ensuite so didn't have to go very far.

It is just a small caravan that pops up and out. We put some extra tarpaulins over the bed sections.

This did mean there were a lot of ropes everywhere but it was good - kept us snug and dry.  I love camping. We do have electricity but everything else is pretty basic. The caravan is light to tow.

We were a couple of rows back from the beach but had a good view of it as there weren't many campers.

I love listening to the sea at night as I go to sleep.

There were lots of kangaroos in and around the camp and plenty of ducks.

We did go on one short bike ride but I am very nervous since the last time I rode my bike I fell off. I must admit I only seem to fall off when I stop. It seems to be a matter of balance. I lowered the seat so my feet reached the ground more easily and that seemed to help. But I need to do some more practice.

  1. I love the sound of the beach at night too. Sometimes I go to sleep listening to a Youtube recording of the ocean. Even better if there is some wind and rain thrown in.

  2. I haven't been to Merry Beach in years. I must renew the acquaintance sooner rather than later. Not too sure I'd camp in a tree tent. Also I'd kill the plants by not watering them enough, the felt would make them dry out even more unless you line them with plastic!
