WILD LIFE AT MERRY BEACH

God gives every bird its food, but He does not throw it into its nest.
 J. G. Holland

I have a strong belief in God but I think this quote is very true. God provides opportunities and it is up to us what we make of them. For me, one of those opportunities was meeting P:-) on line.I was lonely. God provided me with an opportunity and I took it. There was no point at my age just waiting for Mr Right to walk up to my door. Now I consider myself extremely blessed.

P:-) and I camped at Merry Beach for a few days. There were plenty of kangaroos which also means there are plenty of droppings that you have to be careful of camping. We didn't feed the kangaroos. Once you do feed them they won't leave you alone.

Along with the kangaroos was a flock of ducks that inhabited the creek.

There was a pair of plovers on the beach that seemed to be foraging in the edge of the surf.

I have never seen plovers in the water before.

Along with these was a pesky possum that raided our garbage for watermelon rind. It managed to scatter garbage around the place. At one stage it was completely inside the garbage bag.

  1. What a nice camping trip. I can't imagine having kangaroos around our campground like that. We went camping a couple weeks ago and a raccoon got in our garbage while we were right there. It freaked us out a little but it was fun to see him so close. Thank you for commenting on my blog. I am going to add you to my list so I will not forget to visit!
