BENDALONG 1 - THE RUSTIC CARAVAN PARK

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you've imagined. As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler.

  Henry David Thoreau

P:-) and I are just back from a very relaxing holiday in our caravan at Bendalong, about one and a half hours down the coast. Bendalong is a small town situated on the South Coast of New South Wales. It is located in the region of Ulladulla, in the Shoalhaven. My daughter and her husband like the Rustic Caravan Park at Bendalong so we thought we would give it a try.

It was quite rustic in a nice sort of way - certainly not resort style like many of the camping areas around. But that is what we liked about it.

We arrived on Monday and it was very quiet.

A small group of chooks liked to wander through the park and decided to give us a hand with our unpacking.

We had to keep a bit of an eye on the chooks  for the next few days. They would attack the bread if you weren't careful and at one stage one of them  decided to jump up onto the bench to get some melted cheese left in the toasted sandwich maker. She was extremely lucky that we shooed her down before she burnt her feet.

We didn't feed them but I think they were used to being fed by campers because they always seemed to turn up for lunch.

The ground was covered in ants' nests but they really weren't much of a bother.

I usually live in thongs (flip flops for my Canadian friends)  when I am camping but decided it was safer  to stick with joggers.

The new lights P:-) put on the front were great.

They gave plenty of light and as well as switches on the ceiling P:-) put a switch near the lower part of the door, so it was easy to turn on from the outside.

This leaf drifted onto the box we use as a coffee table and I couldn't help photographing it. I love the textures and colours.

I will share a little more with you about our holiday over the next few posts in the next few days.
