A WALK ALONG THE MOUNTAIN TOP

“When you wake up in the morning, Pooh," said Piglet at last, "what's the first thing you say to yourself?"

"What's for breakfast?" said Pooh. "What do you say, Piglet?"

"I say, I wonder what's going to happen exciting today?" said Piglet.

Pooh nodded thoughtfully. "It's the same thing," he said.”

Wow! The weeks are going so quickly. I am on leave from my teaching position which will then finish at the end of the year. I had planned to do a great big clean up of my house which I am going to sell when some repairs are done, but I have been very slow. I have actually surprised myself at how slowly things have been going.

I have been getting rid of a lot of books which is almost like sacrilege, but most of them are second hand and are going back to the Salvation Army store from whence they came.

Last Saturday P:-) and I decided we were in some dire need of exercise so we went up to Mt Keira Lookout for a bit of a walk along a nature trail.

As always, the scene looking north towards Wollongong's  northern suburbs was impressive.

Looking south is Lake Illawarra and the southern suburbs of Wollongong.

While not strictly lawn, P:-)'s backyard is looking very pretty covered in dandelions.

Dandelions are not native to Australia. They were brought over from England by the first settlers. Now they are considered weeds, but they are very pretty.

I really feel that I should look up a recipe for dandelion soup or salad, to make use of all the tender young shoots.

The other night while I was watching Devil's Dust , an interesting mini series about asbestos mining and subsequent disease in Australia, I did a little doodling and decided to share it with you.
