Choose life. Life is wonderful.

Dear Grandma

You are born to live. Don't live because you are born.

The little school where I taught teenagers with behaviour difficulties has been closed down and a new school opened in its place. I have been made redundant.

Today I handed my keys in at school. It was a bit of a wrench. I have had them for 15 years - over a quarter of my life. The whole place has changed and the name has changed. It looks fantastic and exciting. I am sad not to be a part of it any more, but am happy to have time to pursue other interests.

On Saturday P:-) and I went to a friend's 50th birthday party at the St George Motor Boat Club at Sans Souci in southern Sydney. it was a sparkling day and the view from the boat club was impressive. This is the view from the club across to Tom Ugly's Bridge.

View to Tom Ugly's Bridge.

View across the water.

P:-)'s eldest son and daughter-in-law gave me this book for my birthday.

While I am not technically the grandmother of their two little girls - L aged 1 and I aged 3 - I have been on the scene since they were born and love them very much. The book is a type of journal with headings of pages to be filled in with facts and memories and then given back to the grandchildren.

I thought I might share some of my answers with you.

The first blank page is headed: Tell me about the time and place you were born.

I see it as a wonderful privilege to be asked to write this journal. I hope to be able to find some pictures along the way. I may even photo copy this for my two daughters.
